We joined together and discussed ideas of direction and where  we were taking the project
ideas came around like, using samples, creating some kind of rhythm or working in a digital form. we came to an agreement that we will meet up again within a couple of days create some some sound.

I was running late on the second day, i had missed the bus and started walking up the hill, during this time i received a phone call that jay had left the group because he had been tired of waiting around.  so i got there, the group had a discussion and we felt it was better with the three of us as we were on the same plane Jay i felt didn't really want to be in the group to begin with anyways.
So, we got up and without even taking discussions further entered the dark room played some noise and recorded samples.
it’s funny how your head can be full of thoughts but as soon as you start playing an
instrument with another member, you go in clouded with thoughts and for that brief time they just vanish.
it was an interesting experience, we all had such strange instruments

i had an paint canister for a air brush gun, that being made out of metal when filled with water and tapped by a metal object would create a type of acoustic bounce through motions of water.

Sam had created some kind of board with rubber bands, each having different pitches and variirty in sound, almost sounds like a primitive bass guitar at times.

Temple had some pringle cans with a peice of tense string in each, that pluck with your fings and it plays a loud click type sound.

After the first couple of weeks of creating sound, we were tasked then to construct a single track. Unfortunately on that day, my group member's were unable to be there as Temple had to attend a funeral and Sam couldn't locate his Student ID for a bus pass, his previous arrangement didn't show up so it was left up to me. with only about 3 hours to construct a track, i went into the library and sifted through each audio recording taking out samples i thought were interesting like Dialogue, specific instrumental sections and strong tempo as you can listen here:

by the time i got through all the audio i was left with one hour, having it all sorted i was able to place a track together very quickly, dreading presentation i as surprised to find that it turned out fine, but the biggest fear for me was if my group would be satisfied

The next week, the group was back together i played the audio, we agreed it was fine. this week we have been given the task of creating a video for the audio, so after spending an hour or so listening to what now is the final track on loop we wrote down what this track had spoken to us. the idea of water had come up a lot, as did some kind of thought process of insanity of a mental patient, this is the thought process someone may go through to reach a final result of say a painting. so the tone was set, it wasn't to be happy it was to be dark and strange. We then discussed a location, we needed it to be on site, we needed it to have character. so a suggestion as made for D-Block a place at WITT that is rarely used, a place that is filled with holes, cracks, and withered paint it seems like the perfect fitting so after some inspection so we found some rooms, a long hall way and a trolly which we used as a dolly. Me being the most experienced with film i operated the camera, i gave temple and same creative control. the first scene was to be a long narrow hallway, like some sort of person pushing a trolly towards a patients room, the story then continues that a nurse then was to enter the patients room with a cup of coffee, place it down next to the main character and walk away. we then decided that the camera shows a shot of an empty canvas that has driven the patient mad, the camera pulls back and as it's pulling back past each door a flash back is revealed all revolving around the idea of water, it then pulls right back to the start with the painting finished. these elements are supposed to resemble the lengths and process someone might go through to get some artwork done..

The next thing we went about doing was how we would write our music, we discussed and decided the best way would be to submerge our instruments in the water, to justify an end to the beginning to say, that we cannot continue, it is finished.
we then filled up a sink in the dark room full of water, and had temple pour in some red dye, after filming the footage, we went into the mac lab and put together a new video to complement the project

The final outcome i was satisfied with, i felt our team had a great dynamic and i'm glad Jay left the group, because things would have turned out much different... though i am curious to how they just might have been.
